Exciting news…

I know I never post on here but it’s because I’ve been working on something exciting. Ever since I was little, I always wanted my own clothing line, a way to display my art. So after months of people telling me to sell my art and photography of the beach, I started to think of how can I do this? Well, that’s where I got the idea to finally launch my own line, a lifelong dream I’ve had. So after a lot of hard work, I finally decided to let the Instagram world know! I am launching my line Thalassic to officially open for orders on June 1,2018. I’ve started my instagram, so followers can see all the products that are upcoming and specials we will have for the launch. Thalassic will sell, T-shirts, tanks, leggings, swim trunks/shorts for men. Products that are still in development are, shorts for women, neck guards, and sports bras!

So please, go follow the instagram, @wearthalassic and the Twitter @wearthalassic, tell your friends too! Stay updated and get ready for some exciting apparel!

If Found, Please Return To The Beach.

Nothing better than going to the beach for sunset. Especially since its been about a month since I’ve been 😦 because of so much school work to do.

** Oh and the clothes I’m wearing, “If Found, please return to the beach” T-shirt and the pastel palm tree leggings – keep your eye out for them, I’m going to be launching something awesome.**

My secret spot

Also is my favorite spot. It’s quiet, a few down tress for sitting, trees for shade and sand so soft and white they’re like clouds.

I look forward to walking to this spot every time I’m at the beach. It sits right on the channel of the pass.

Paddle through Whiskey Creek

At John U. Lloyd Beach State Park in Dania Beach, FL they have creek that leads into the intercostal then out to the Atlantic on the west side of the park. The creek is called  Whiskey Creek, and when I lived on the East Coast of Florida my boyfriend and I whenever we had the same days off  we’d take our boards and go paddle Whiskey Creek. My boyfriend would bring his fishing pole and fish because he heard there was good snook finishing back there.

There is a very important thing though when going paddling at whiskey creek, you have to go at high tide and know the tides. When it is low tide in whiskey creek you will have to carry your board the few miles back to where you launched. Other than that it is a very peaceful paddle. The park has an area for those who don’t have their own boards to rent them and to also rent kayaks and canoes. You don’t have to worry about any boats either until the end where the rental area is which is where it opens to the intercostal. Right at that section a lot of boats will anchor and hang out on the small beach in the creek.

You paddle through the mangroves and you’ll come across lots on conch, mullet, and a bunch of other marine life that resides in the mangroves and creek. If your ever in the Dania Beach/Fort Lauderdale area you should check it out. The beach at John Lloyd is great too, and at the very end of the park they have a long fishing jetty thats great to walk out on. Sometimes you’ll see some cool marine life like nurse sharks, eagle rays, parrot fish and a bunch of other marine life that love jetties. I’ll talk about the Jetties in another post, since I have a million pictures there. 🙂

Take Me To Nirvana

Gloomy day gave a cloudy sunset, but it was still a beautiful sunset with all the hues of blue and light pinks.

Sunsets and mediation are my favorite combination. And Spiritual Gangster makes some of my favorite yoga clothing and I’m obsessed with with this shirt “Take me to nirvana” by them.

I’ve been MIA

I haven’t posted in a LONG time, and I promise to get better and at least post once a week. But heres an update & a screen shot of my instagram because I seemed to of posted more on there than here, and that I too promise to get better that…

Well a new semester has started for me at school and a finally got a job since moving back to the West Coast. I took one look at the three syllabuses and had a mental breakdown. I was asking myself how am I going to do this while juggling work and treatment for my ED. My first week of school felt like a week long panic attack accompanied with binging and purging. I had a few binging and purging episodes but have had now a “good” two weeks without either. Now that the first week of school has passed and I’m aquatinted with my job, I have a good system going.

As for my Eating Disorder, I started seeing a new therapist. This therapist actually is helping and I’m finally going through a treatment program with her that is helping. The stress of trying to find enough time between school, work, and working on ED had me feeling like I was drowning and I couldn’t do it. But I finally feel like I’m on a good path and like I said above I’m aquatinted now with work and got a system going .

It was also my 25th birthday the other day, my boyfriend came into town on Friday and we went out to dinner with my parents on Saturday.  Friday my ED wasn’t taking over me, and for once in a long time I felt confident about my self..until Saturday night when it was as if that “high” of feeling good about myself and comfortable in my own skin wore off. I’m working on keeping that feeling of being comfortable my own skin and not worrying about what others think, but just like everything it takes time and isn’t something that will change over night.

But still, yoga every morning and every night and might even try taking walks at sunrise on the beach every morning. Theres not much of a sunrise  on the west coast of Florida since the sun rises in the east but its still worth a shot and no matter what will be peaceful and beautiful. The beach as we know is my happy place and where I let go and feel grounded, but I haven’t been able to get there in the mornings anymore because of work and then I’m always at home after work studying like crazy to continue doing well in school

So now back up to date, I promise to get better at posting again. Also, what do you to manage stress when you feel like everything is coming at you at once. I’d love to hear what you all do to see if its something I can maybe try.  🙂

P.S. my outfit is Show me your mumu – Skirt and Shirt I bought of 6pm.com 🙂

I’m writing this post as I currently dream of the keys.  The Florida Keys is by far my favorite escape. I would go every summer in middle school and then through out high school. In middle school I went to Seacamp, an 18 day camp that is all about teaching those who attend about marine life and exploring the oceans and protecting out oceans and marine life. This camp is what fueled my love for the ocean, for sharks(especially swimming in the shark pond) and most importantly the importance of protecting our beautiful oceans and marine life.IMG_1886

My soul is craving a trip back. To swim in the crystal blue waters, the colorful reefs, the island feel, the feeling of having no worries, the atmosphere of Duval Street, the history and the picture perfect sunsets.

I will get back there in a few months, I’ve promised myself that.

The Florida Keys, has taught me the importance of letting things go that burden us and letting our soul be free. Do what makes us happy.

My favorite reef is Looe Key, its off of Big Pine Key.  Its a national marine sanctuary and I believe it is a must see. It is beautiful. I wish I had photos from my Seacamp days to share with you…so this just means I MUST go back soon so I can write a post on it. Looe key is where I really truly fell in love with sharks, swimming along with reef sharks gracefully gliding through the waters.

Some of my favorites in the Keys is – Mangrove Mama’s Restaurant, Bahia Honda, Fury Cat, Mallory Square, Looe Key, Island Grill in Islamorada, Seacamp and so many more!

So here’s some pictures from some past trips in Keys.

*Stay tuned for more posts about the keys, ocean, living the salty life, ocean conservation, sharks, and more*

Below 50 Degrees & At The Beach

Well a cold front came through and I woke up to it being 42 degrees outside and super windy. I debated for a good hour whether or not to go walk and meditate on the beach and freeze.

Well it wasnt hard to convince myself to go, so I went. I got to the beach and of course maybe 3 Florida cars in the parking lot and the rest out-of-state, once you got on the beach you could totally tell who were the “snowbirds”. As soon as I parked and got out of my car, I could hear the waves crashing on the shore. The oceans roar was loud yet so peaceful and calming to listen to.

It was so peaceful, I didn’t even do my full walk. I walked about 3/4 of mile down and walked up to a dry spot and started to take in the scenery and meditate. The sound of the waves were so calming, I got lost in meditation. I only planned to go to the beach for 35/40 minutes because of my finals but I ended up staying for almost 2 hours…it happens a lot. Sitting there watching the waves crash against the shore, barely any one on the beach, it was pure bliss. I might of been freezing but I didn’t mind.

“Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak.”

After the beach, it was time to hit the books. Finals are coming fast. I spent the afternoon too prepping for an interview tomorrow(fingers crossed). Leaving the beach, I thought  I was escaping the cold…but nope I didnt. I got home and it was freezing in my house. The AC was on 80 degrees but it wasn’t budging a degree over 61. My mom came home and found my bundled up with a scarf, fuzzy socks, leggings and a long sleve…after her quick uhhh what are you doing look, I quickly said to her my Floridian blood can’t take this cold. IMG_51510F599AE7-1

I even did my favorite face mask, to refresh my skin since this cold weather is super harsh on the skin. They are the best masks ever. I’ll post a post about them along with some other things one day soon.

Now I’m off to sleep, my Aussie is snoring away and time to get well rested to be prepared for the interview and studying.

Peace & Love,
