Gloomy Day OOTD

It was a semi gloomy day today. The fog this morning was extremely dense. So my motto – if it’s gloomy, wear Lilly. Well I almost always have Lilly on, but Lilly seems to brighten up a extra gloomy day.

A Pop Of Color

Adding a pop of pink to my outfit today. This skirt I found in a tub of clothes I had put away in 2015, because they no longer fit me thanks to some weight gain(80 pounds…ugh), but now I’m almost down 45 pounds from mid last year,WOOHOO! I found the tub over the weekend and tried them on thinking “what are the odds of it fitting”…welp! it fits, actually its big on me and I should probably get it taken in. It was a good feeling I must say! 🙂

Aquamarine Trillion Cut

Oh and my ring today was super blue so I had to take a photo. I got this ring back in 2007, its my favorite piece if jewelry. Its an Aquamarine Trillon cut with 6 diamonds on the sides. I LOVE it. Aquamarine is my favorite stone and color….hence the name of the blog ;).

I’m obsessed with these J. Crew Flats.

So I had to wear them today, so I decided to pair them with my black Ann Taylor leggings and my loft t-shirt that has a nice little shimmer of gold.

I’m writing this post as I currently dream of the keys.  The Florida Keys is by far my favorite escape. I would go every summer in middle school and then through out high school. In middle school I went to Seacamp, an 18 day camp that is all about teaching those who attend about marine life and exploring the oceans and protecting out oceans and marine life. This camp is what fueled my love for the ocean, for sharks(especially swimming in the shark pond) and most importantly the importance of protecting our beautiful oceans and marine life.IMG_1886

My soul is craving a trip back. To swim in the crystal blue waters, the colorful reefs, the island feel, the feeling of having no worries, the atmosphere of Duval Street, the history and the picture perfect sunsets.

I will get back there in a few months, I’ve promised myself that.

The Florida Keys, has taught me the importance of letting things go that burden us and letting our soul be free. Do what makes us happy.

My favorite reef is Looe Key, its off of Big Pine Key.  Its a national marine sanctuary and I believe it is a must see. It is beautiful. I wish I had photos from my Seacamp days to share with you…so this just means I MUST go back soon so I can write a post on it. Looe key is where I really truly fell in love with sharks, swimming along with reef sharks gracefully gliding through the waters.

Some of my favorites in the Keys is – Mangrove Mama’s Restaurant, Bahia Honda, Fury Cat, Mallory Square, Looe Key, Island Grill in Islamorada, Seacamp and so many more!

So here’s some pictures from some past trips in Keys.

*Stay tuned for more posts about the keys, ocean, living the salty life, ocean conservation, sharks, and more*

First Day

Today was my first day at my job and it was FREEZING outside. Okay, so I don’t live where it’s snowing but for SouthWest Florida it was toooo cold, our low was 36 degrees today. Of course I’m also battling a cold that I thought was gone by decided to come back with vengeance.

The nerves about the first day got to me, the thoughts of “what if I mess up” or “what I’m not good enough” kept running through my head yesterday and this morning, to the point I want to get into my binging because all I wanted was to comfort eat since that is what I’ve known to do for 8 years. But I tried not to give in but when I was at my boyfriends for the new year, and my Nerves were starting to go haywire, all I wanted was to eat and ordered the smorgasbord and then HATED myself afterwards. I’m still working on breaking this binging issue I’ve dealt with for 8 years and even the purging for the past year or so, but it’s a work in progress and hopefully soon I’ll find the right professional who can help.

On another note – here’s the OOTD

Hey, 2018!

We said goodbye to 2017 and welcomed in 2018.

I’m not one to say the whole ” New year, New Me”, I’ve always seen it as a new day, a clean slate, another 365 days to better myself.

2017, was one hell of year and I was happy to see it go. 2017 was full of change, struggles and successes. I decided to quit my job, move out of Ft. Lauderdale and back to where I grew up, have a career change and go back to school, all while dealing with my anxiety going haywire and admitting my eating disorder. Needless to say 2017 was a whirlwind. But it was full of lessons and growth.

I’m going into 2018 with a positive outlook and to be a year full of positivity and adventure. My goals for 2018 are to focus on my mental health and physical health. Get to a better place and into full recovery with my bulimia. To focus on self love and bettering my relationship with myself.  Along with just going on more adventures, doing things that I love more, and focusing always on finding the positives.

I hope you all had a very Happy New Year and I wish you all a year full of good health, happiness and positivity.
